Drinking Rum in The Bahamas! – John Watling’s Distillery

The official spirit of the Caribbean is rum. It has been that way since the late 16th and 17th centuries when pirates inhabited the Bahamas and surrounding islands. Rum was the drink of choice for buccaneers and today, you can find rum baked in cakes, mixed in cocktails, and offered straight up. We learned all about the history of the versatile spirit and how the “angels” get to enjoy it at a local distillery in downtown Nassau.
