My List Of Travel Necessities To Keep Me Looking And Feeling My Best While Abroad

I LOVE to travel, but spending hours on planes and eating out while overseas can impact your health and how you feel. Over the years, I’ve learned to pack several specific items to help me feel at home when I’m away from home so I can thoroughly enjoy my trip while looking and feeling my best.

I just returned from a two-week trip to China so I thought it would be apropos to share some travel necessities. I went to Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Hong Kong, and Guangzhou.  Why? I went back to the motherland (for those who don’t know, my mom is Chinese) to celebrate the 130th anniversary of my great-grandfather, Jiang Guangnai, who was an Army General and fought the Japanese when they invaded China.

Family history lesson later (or you can check my IG), in the meantime, here is a list of my travel essentials:

LIVING FUEL

This drink is my secret weapon to staying healthy and energized, especially when I travel. It is nutrient dense and great for when I’m globetrotting and staying at hotels on the other side of the world and don’t have access to a fridge full of fresh fruits and veggies. This is how I make sure I get my daily nutrition in one simple meal.

Note: we took the high speed train from Beijing to Xi’an and they asked us if we wanted pork or beef… um, this vegan was so thankful she brought her Living Fuel.

ORVEDA

You know you’re using a great product when your friends start making unsolicited comments like, “Your skin looks great!” I was recently introduced to Orveda – an all-vegan, luxury skincare line that was created by the former CEO of L’Oreal and Lancôme – and I could not be happier with the results. I packed these products in my carry-on to use on the plane and during my time abroad.

Healing Sap – the name says it all

Overnight Masque– this is key when it comes to staying hydrated during long flights.

Eye Unveiler 422 – this product is not only nourishes the skin, but it also helps to rebuild the skin’s superficial barrier

EYE PILLOW, Jane Inc.

I love this weighted eye pillow that’s made out of soft, hand-printed cotton from India on one side, and cooling natural silk on the other. It’s also filled with a blend of flax seeds and dried lavender to enhance relaxation.

PORTABLE MASSAGE BALL, Rumble Roller

Um…when you have hip arthritis or get a little stiff while sitting on a plane for over 10 hours, this is essential.

NUT-FREE GRANOLA

If you’re looking for granola that’s nut-free, sugar-free, but still tastes great…look no further than this Power Granola by St. Amour Cookies that packs 10 grams of protein per serving.

BOOTY BANDS

These exercise bands are super light and you can take them anywhere to get in a little booty toning action. According to my physical therapist, I have to use these for side-steps to keep the muscles strong around my hip joint so my arthritis doesn’t act up.

MANUKA HONEY ON-THE-GO

Manuka honey is known to have antibacterial properties as well as antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. These tiny packets are perfect to take with you while you travel.
