Whenever I take a trip across the globe, I always know I’ll be in good hands at a Four Seasons Hotel. Turns out there is only one Four Seasons in all of Australia and it’s located in the Rocks district, a historic area on the southern shore of the Sydney Harbour. The hotel has an expansive lobby and many of the rooms have dramatic views of the iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
Pei Modern is located in the back of the split-level lobby and has an open kitchen, complete with a charcoal grill and wood-fired oven that cooks food at 400C. The menu is full of interesting, modern Australian choices, all of which were beautifully presented on our plates. We ordered a range of different items, including dessert and finished everything since the food tasted as good as it looked.
