Four Reasons to Stay at the Nevis Four Seasons

We just returned from a trip to Nevis (the neighboring island of Saint Kitts) in the Caribbean and I have to say, it was nice to get away.

As the world slowly opens back up, traveling is a little different, but if you don’t mind the extra paperwork and multiple Covid tests, you can certainly start to explore and visit new places around the world.

Here are four reasons to visit Nevis, Four Seasons:

Service

If you go anywhere in the world and you stay at a Four Seasons, you can be pretty sure that the service will be at the highest level. Everyone will know your name, your food allergies will be on a list and even the bartender will know what you want before you even order it (well, once they learn what you like to drink…thank you Kendie 😉🍹).

At the Nevis, Four Seasons, I’m happy to say that the service exceeded my expectations.

Safety

As the pandemic settles down, the number one priority on everyone’s mind is safety; that includes travelers and staff. Before heading to the islands, you have to ensure that you are fully vaccinated, or the government will not allow you to visit.

Other rules and regulations:

72 hours prior to departure, you have to test negative on a PCR nasal test and fill out a customs form. After you send in the information, the government in St. Kitts will email you a travel authorization form…if you don’t get that form, you cannot check into your flight.
Upon arrival, the resort staff greets you at the pier and walks you into a suite for a temperature check. If your temperature is normal, you are given a purple wrist band that you have to wear your entire stay because you’re basically “in quarantine,” and must “stay in place,” which means you can’t leave the property during your stay. Thank goodness the resort has its own beach, pools, tennis courts, water sports, spa, restaurants and gym.
Guests must wear masks in common areas, unless you’re eating or drinking.
Temperature checks are taken every morning and guests are given a colored wrist band (colors change daily) to indicate they don’t have a fever.
72 hours prior to departure, guests must take another PCR nasal test (nurses are on site) which costs $150 each. Negative test results must be shared with airline personnel at the airport before you’re given the green light to fly home.Health and Safety protocols that took effect May 29, 2021

Scenery

The scenery on this 350 acre resort is filled with colorful trees. The vibrant, green landscape is peppered with bursts of pink, yellow, and purple flowers. When we visited in mid June, the Poinciana Trees – which are also known as Flame Trees or Flamboyants – were in full bloom. I learned these bright, coral colored clusters are the national flower of St. Kitts and Nevis.

You may also see monkeys, sea turtles, hermit crabs, and various bird species.

And, of course, you can’t miss Nevis Peak, which sits 3200 feet tall and towers over the background.

Sanctuary

If you’re looking for a place where you can relax, recharge and tune out the rest of the world…this is it. And, if you’re lucky enough to be there with your boo, the experience will likely be even more special.

All in all, it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay at the Nevis, Four Seasons. If you end up planning a trip to the island, make sure you try the Johnny Cakes…it’s a staple in the Caribbean and the fiancé LOVED them 😉
